Address human rights and sustainability risks
Kumi’s approach is investigative, risk-based and action-oriented. We help clients move from broad risk scoping to clear prioritisation, practical mitigation and meaningful remediation.
Our work draws on international standards, local context and sector expertise, including experience conducting desktop and on-site due diligence in high-risk supply chains. We focus on the “so what”: which risks or impacts matter most, why they matter, who may be affected and what the business can realistically do about them. By combining a rights-holder perspective with a deep understanding of commercial and operational realities, we help clients make informed, proportionate and defensible decisions in complex situations.
- Supply chain mapping and risk prioritisation: We map supply chains, identify high-risk geographies, suppliers, materials or operating contexts and prioritise where deeper due diligence is required.
- Human Rights Risk Assessments (HRRA): We conduct human rights risk assessments that identify salient human rights risks, assess severity and likelihood, and provide practical recommendations for action.
- On-site due diligence assessments: We undertake risk-based on-site due diligence assessments across human rights, environmental and wider ESG risk factors, using experienced practitioners and drawing on local expertise where needed.
- Human Rights Impact Assessments (HRIA): We deliver human rights impact assessments that examine actual and potential impacts on rights holders, helping clients develop effective mitigation, management and remediation measures.
- Risk mitigation and remediation: We support clients to design and implement risk mitigation and remediation approaches that address root causes, reduce harm and strengthen due diligence outcomes.
- Crisis and incident advisory support: We provide expert advice when serious allegations, incidents or stakeholder concerns arise, helping clients understand the issues, respond appropriately and make informed decisions under pressure.
