Kumi helps organisations improve responsible sourcing performance within their own operations and across their supply chains. We focus on achieving measurable reductions in risk for both rights holders and the business, rather than activity for its own sake.
Our approach to capacity building goes beyond conventional training by identifying the root causes of poor performance, whether they stem from weak management systems, limited capability, misaligned incentives, unclear responsibilities or other underlying factors. We work with both internal teams and suppliers to strengthen management processes, close corrective actions effectively and build lasting capability. Where harm has occurred, we advise on remediation approaches that are proportionate, credible and designed to support both effective remedy and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen suppliers’ management processes: We help suppliers strengthen the policies, procedures, controls and governance needed to manage human rights, environmental and responsible sourcing risks more effectively.
- Capacity building for internal procurement and suppliers: We design capacity-building programmes for procurement teams and suppliers, combining training, coaching, tools and process improvements to address the underlying causes of performance gaps.
- Root-cause investigations and response plans: We investigate recurring issues, incidents and non-conformances to identify root causes and develop practical response plans that reduce the likelihood of recurrence and drive lasting improvement.
- Supplier audit corrective action plan closure and progress monitoring: We support corrective action plan closure, progress monitoring and follow-up after supplier audits and due diligence assessments, helping clients ensure that improvements are implemented, verified and sustained.
