Responsible sourcing programme for a holding company

Responsible sourcing programme for a holding company

Kumi was commissioned by a European holding company that owns multiple manufacturing businesses to deploy its Responsible Sourcing Diagnostic to assess the company’s responsible sourcing programme.  Our client needed to develop a programme that would meet EU regulatory requirements for supply chain due diligence and incorporate responsible sourcing into its pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration processes.

Benchmarking against CS3D requirements

To meet our client’s requirements, Kumi undertook the following activities:

Reviewed relevant policies, procedures and reports to identify existing approaches to due diligence.
Interviewed employees with responsibilities associated with responsible sourcing (e.g. senior leadership, procurement, legal and sustainability) to accompany the document review and to understand broader strategic aims for ESG.
Benchmarked the findings against the requirements for responsible sourcing according to the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, drawing on our insights from conducting OECD Alignment Assessments.
Drafted a final report with detailed findings and recommendations, which we presented in a workshop to our client’s key stakeholders, including Board members.

Integrating human rights due diligence into acquisitions

As a result of our engagement, our client has an innovative roadmap to improve its responsible sourcing programme that is tailored to its holding company structure. The roadmap integrates human rights due diligence into its acquisition strategy and gives an approach to communicate due diligence requirements to companies within the group and to their suppliers.
