OECD Alignment Assessment Tool for the Agricultural Sector
OECD Alignment Assessment Tool for the Agricultural Sector
Kumi was commissioned by the OECD’s Responsible Business Conduct Unit to support them in the development of an Alignment Assessment tool for industry initiatives and companies in the agricultural sector. The tool is based on the OECD-FAO Guidance for Responsible Agricultural Supply Chains (the ‘OECD-FAO Guidance’).
The Kumi team developed the alignment assessment tool by identifying the key recommendations from the OECD-FAO Guidance that companies or initiatives need to be implementing to be deemed as aligned with the OECD-FAO Guidance. These are transformed into a spreadsheet with a scoring mechanism, which provides the final outputs of any alignment, showing whether or not an industry initiative or company is fully, partially or not aligned with the OECD Guidance.
The project also involved input into an OECD manual which describes the assessment methodology for future agricultural Alignment Assessments.
Building on our expertise in alignment assessments
Kumi was selected for this work because of our expertise in the practical implementation of the OECD Guidance. Further, this project builds on work we have supported the OECD with previously, notably the development of Alignment Assessment tools for the minerals and garment and footwear sectors, and our work with the European Commission as an Alignment Assessor for the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation.
