CAHRA map

About the CAHRA Map

Kumi created the CAHRA Map to help companies in mineral and metal supply chains to identify “conflict-affected and high-risk areas” (CAHRAs). CAHRA Map is intended to:

  • Support companies’ due diligence and responsible sourcing objectives
  • Fulfil compliance requirements from regulation and industry schemes
  • Enable companies to provide a clear audit trail of CAHRA risk assessment.

CAHRA Map has been specifically designed to support you in meeting compliance requirements, providing an audit trail that enables you to demonstrate to auditors or customers how you have assessed CAHRA risks.

The data that CAHRA Map collates and interprets are drawn from publicly available data sources referenced within guidance developed by the European Commission. Further details on the CAHRA Map methodology are available here.

Note: No ‘official’ list of CAHRAs exists. The designation of whether a location is a CAHRA or not is the sole responsibility of companies. Different companies may draw different conclusions about the same location depending on their risk tolerance. The methodology used by the CAHRA Map to indicate CAHRAs draws on Kumi’s experience and applies what Kumi believes to be a reasonable approach to interpreting the various open source data that are available to companies. Users of the CAHRA Map have sole responsibility for their due diligence decisions and under no circumstances will Kumi or Grouptree accept any liability for decisions made or actions taken using information provided by the CAHRA Map service. Terms and Conditions for use of the CAHRA Map service are available here.
