Mike supports Kumi’s work on responsible mineral supply chains with smelters, refiners and manufacturing clients. Mike has over 40 years of industrial experience and has been working on responsible sourcing issues for over 15 years.
Prior to a move into consulting, Mike was the Global Supply Chain Social and Environmental Responsibility Supplier Assurance manager at Hewlett-Packard. In this role he was responsible for ethical sourcing decisions based on supplier sustainability evaluations and EHS audits. He managed HP’s global audit team evaluating supplier’s compliance against HP’s code of conduct and also managed the company’s third party audit program. Subsequently he joined SGS where he was responsible for managing the firm’s conflict minerals programme, leading SGS audit teams globally.
Mike holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Washington. Outside work Mike is an avid sports enthusiast. He likes to travel and enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking and skiing.
