John Abraham



John is a specialist in local content and supplier development and supports Kumi’s work with clients in this area. He has over 20 years’ experience of supporting and developing local businesses to participate in the supply chains of international companies, particularly in the extractive industries.

He started his career at Rio Tinto in Laos and subsequently worked for a number of different organisations focusing primarily on local and indigenous supplier development and local content strategy.

John was responsible for delivering $50 million in service contracts for local and indigenous suppliers for Exxon’s LNG project in Papua New Guinea. He was the local content manager for BG Group’s $20 billion gas project in Queensland, Australia; a project that resulted in $13 billion in contracts being awarded to Queensland companies.

Being based in Australia’s Sunshine Coast, John has access to an enviable variety of outdoor pursuits. His preferred pastime is kite surfing.
